Karen worked in fraud intelligence for twenty years before retraining to work with adults with learning difficulties. She worked in supported learning at Daventry College for over ten years, both as a support assistant and as a personal tutor.
Karen has undertaken training in makaton, epilepsy, behavioural plans, autism, safeguarding, teaching and visual and hearing impairments.
Karen lives with Dave and an assortment of cats, dogs, chickens and ducks as well as five children! Karen has a child with ADHD and appreciates first hand the difficulties of living with a child with a learning difficulty. She has great empathy with other parents who share similar experiences. In her spare time, Karen relaxes by swimming, walking and cooking.
